Email volume is rarely a straight line. A product launch, a seasonal sale or a viral week can send ten times your usual volume, and then things go quiet again. A subscription makes you pay for the peak every month.

Today Reloop gets **pay as you go**: buy email credits once, use them over 6 months, no subscription. Credits sit on top of the [free tier](/blog/reloop-free-tier), so you only pay for what goes past 6,000 emails a month.

## What you get

A pack of 10,000 emails is $5. A pack of 100,000 is $50.

## How it works

1. **Your free 6,000 comes first.** Each month the free allowance is used before any credits, so a quiet month costs nothing.
2. **Credits cover the rest.** Anything past 6,000 in a month comes out of your credit balance.
3. **Pro limits while you hold credits.** With an active balance, the 200-a-day cap is gone and you get Pro's limits: 5 inboxes, 5 webhooks, 5 domains and 5 MB attachments.
4. **Top up any time.** A new pack adds to your balance and resets the 6-month clock on all of it.
5. **When credits run out or expire,** your account goes back to the free tier. Your domains, templates and data stay.

<Callout type="tip">
  Credits last 6 months, not one. If you send 4,000 extra emails a month on average, a single 25,000-email pack ($12.50) covers half a year.
</Callout>

## Who it's for

Pay as you go fits anyone whose sending doesn't look the same every month:

- **Launches and campaigns.** 2,000 emails most months and 40,000 when you ship something big.
- **Seasonal businesses.** Busy in November and December, quiet the rest of the year.
- **New products.** You don't know your volume yet and don't want a subscription before you do.
- **Agencies and side projects.** Many small projects that each send in bursts.
- **One-off sends.** A migration notice or a policy update to your whole user base.

If your volume is steady every month, a [monthly plan](/blog/introducing-monthly-plans) is usually cheaper. Credits and Pro cost the same at about 26,000 emails a month. The full math is in [pay as you go vs monthly: how to choose](/blog/pay-as-you-go-vs-monthly-email-pricing).

## Nothing else changes

- **Same product.** API, SMTP relay, templates, agent inboxes, inbound and analytics all work the same with credits.
- **No lock-in.** Your domains, templates, contacts and API keys stay when you switch between credits and a plan.
- **No surprise bills.** Credits are paid up front. Nothing renews without you.
- **Still open source.** [Self-host](/self-host) with no license fee if you'd rather run it yourself.

See every number on the [pricing page](/pricing), or [create an account](/dashboard/signup) and buy your first pack from billing.
